Yes...I remember the HESI scaring me like that as well. You will do GREAT! I have full confidence in you! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
They had me on nights for the first 3 months I was here in Cali...part of me liked it (less politics, etc) and part of me wanted to be normal. You will be able to get a day shift, no problem!

Yeah, I hear it's hard to get an L and D job unless you have an 'in'...the nurses that work these areas usually LOVE it and stay there! Peds is growing on me, I still have some hard times, though, makes me very nervous!
You are so lucky to have so many things to be passionate about! I am glad to hear that you will do both when you are done with school!
I absolutely HATED med-surg when I was in school! I started there because the floor that I interviewed on was AMAZING, so were the staff! As it turns out, it was the best thing for me...you get your assessment skills down, for sure! You DO see such a variety of illnesses, I would recommend it to anyone. It is hard, though because med-surg is usually known for being short staffed due to the workload. There is very high turnover, LOTS of admits and discharges.
BUT...you could say that it does wonders for your time management skills. You have to be on your toes or you get behind. That's just my opinion...

gurl I hear ya. been counting down. We start clinicals tom. But its going quite well. I"m so thankful it seems to be coming alot easier than I expected. By the end of this month we will have completed 4 classes with only 3 left. How's things going for you? How's the family?
