Hello, thanks for inviting me into your circle of friends. Didn't realize there are so many Filipina nurses here in NursingLink. Ang gaganda pa and all are mabata? (young)....is that right? Sorry, sometimes I can't find some words. I remember taking care of a patient who didn't know how to speak/understand English and of course I was the only Filipina around so I attempted to translate. Boy was I horrible. I tried to tell him to turn on his side. " Mag turn po kayu sa side niyo". And I realized that the main purpose of what I was trying to convey was not translated at all. So thru the night , I was trying to talk to him and communicating using body/hand/wiggling of the nose language. Shows you what I know. So now I finally learned what I'm suppose to say when I need a patient to turn onto her/his side. Keep in touch, Clover. I'm sure we'll see each other more in the near future. ciao.
