I don't have one, but a good friend of mine got one and I had a chance to play around with it yesterday. I really had no interest in getting one based on the price (I think it's more like $500 or $600!) but I have to say - it is a fiiiine piece of technology. Very easy to use, intuitive and downright GORGEOUS!! I didn't actually make a phone call with it, and I'm not really used to talking on phones that are completely flat :) But the browser was great, the iPod portion was great... I might have to spring for a 2nd generation, after they've worked the initial kinks out (no Instant Messenger, for example)

I MUST have one. I don't know why I have to have one, but I really, really want one
    NOW!!!!!!!!

I'm still a kid at heart, and I still like playing with new toys.

I saw one on Monday... amazing!

Apparently it only costs Apple $220 in parts to build one... that's a huge profit margin. And consider that they sold 150,000 - 200,000 of them on the weekend!

yeah, its beautiful....but the battery life is mixed and the keyboard is nearly unusable (particularly without landscape mode). clearly a v1 product from apple.

i looks pretty! i wish i could have one, but if its more trouble than it's worth, like a lot of technology these days, then i done care for one.

Pretty cool stuff! I am a big Mac Fanboy so I like all things Apple. They did just lower the price big time! Now "just" $399 for the 8 gig. I played with one at the Apple store as was impressed. Our cardiac surgeon is also a big mac guy and will be getting one soon - I'll see what he says.

I lllllloooooovvvvveeee my iPhone. It pushes email better then the Treo. The internet (although slow) works much better too. Google Maps? Sweet! That little map search feature has saved my bacon (can you say lost in Detroit?) on more than one occasion. It also keeps me in the Latte as it will search and map businesses in a particular area.

I am also using it to post to my blog via email when I am on the go. Very nerdy but cool in my world. Being a Mac person the connectivity has been simple.

Phone coverage? I live in Michigan and drive through some very rural areas. I have had Cingular/ATT for quite some time (3 years) and have been very happy. Have also taken it to Los Angeles, Savannah, and a few other states with no issues.

The downside? There are no third party medical software programs as of yet. They are opening up programming to third party developers in February 08 and I am crossing my fingers and toes that Pepid and SkyScape get on board muy pronto. I will be investing a TON of money if and when they do.

One last note? Buy refurbished if price is an issue. I did and am very happy with it.

as with any new tech, it would be expensive, and i down right could not afford it... and its a little too high tech for me... however, it is a brilliant idea, and convenient for those constantly on the go..
