I use a competitor's navigator, and I honestly don't know how I managed to live without it now. It makes life in a new or unfamiiiar area SO easy. Mine has saved me many many times. I never go anywhere without it.

I have a GPS system, but not a Magellan. I love it. It makes it so easy when you are traveling somewhere unfamiliar.
