| Description: | A salve originally intended to soothe irritation on cows' udders. Although the product only mentions use "For chapped conditions and superficial abrasions", it is used as a treatment for chapped and irritated skin on humans and can be found in drug stores and ski resorts. It has also gained popularity as a post-tattoo skin soother. Bag Balm is made by the Dairy Association Co. in Lyndonville, Vermont and Rock Island, Quebec. The product is known for its characteristic 10 oz green tins featuring a cow's head and red clovers on the lid. It has been in production since 1899. |
I have used to product in LTC settings for skin protection and healing in incontinent patients. Works wonders!
this is great for healing small diabetic wounds. Also, it works great on stretch marks .
I'm betting this would work great in LTC setting. I've never heard of it.
I work in LTC and have for about 20 years! This product is great as a skin barrier for incontient patients as well as softening dry hard skin....and a little goes a long way....it is also great for for 1st degree burns that are healing....would not use on diabetic patients since this product is not sterile.....also great to use as a massager for those with reddened areas on feet/heels that have some slight abrasions from sheets.
Wonderful
great stuff!
This stuff is incredible!
When I was a CNA we used this in the nursing home. Patients could not believe what it was really meant to be used for. Its the best
we use this in the nursing home and it is great. The residents love it. It looks better than a tube sittin by their bedside.
nicu will dry your hands out like no place else 3 mintue scrub brush on entry and 1 minute full out hand wash between patients ... This along with Eucerin were the nurses protection from rough chapped skin. Good stuff.
good skin barrier and feels good to use when you need it
Great skin barrier. When it snows, it really keeps your hands moist...
My hands and feet are always dry...this goes on my wish list.
good stuff.
so usefull and great balm
Never seen this. The price is right. I wonder if it will work for the very dry skin that we get here in NV?
