Would you take this job?

Posted 3 months ago I was offered a job in an assisted living home. During the interview I was showed the medication cabinet and they explained all about it. This seemed wierd to me since I am a Medical Assistant who will not graduate until July. I asked how many people live in the home and was told that there are 23. You not only have to see that they get their medication but the other duties include: helping with showers, helping them get ready for bed, making supper, cleaning up, and some other light housekeeping duties. This did not sound out of the ordinary (except for the medications) until I asked how many people work there during the 3-11 shift. I was told that I would be the only one there. This seemed really odd to me. What are your feelings on this matter? |

| Posted 3 months ago i'm not in the nursing field as of yet... but that seems like a lot for one person to be doing.. especially the medication part, you're not legally certified to do that i presume. |

| Posted 3 months ago that makes sense.. but i don't know why they would offer you a job doing that part. god forbid the wrong medication is given being that you'll be the only one taking care of 23 people as it is they would get in a lot of trouble. and me being the way I am.. i would think that if that did happen they would find a way to blame it on you. me personally i wouldn't take it. but you have to way the pro/cons. and maybe also let them know that you don't feel comfortable doing that. There's just toooo much room for error IMO |
