Stretched to the Limit!

Posted 4 months ago Shouldn't it be a sign for your Boss and for administration that your department needs more staff when your employees are becoming sick all the time. I'm not talking about occassionally calling out but actually getting sick because they are stressed out and stretched to the limit staff wise and in their health? Go figure! |

| Posted 4 months ago You can't win at this. I worked one place, the city was sick and dying from a virus...literally. I went to work, sick. I had a coughing spell, went to the end of the hall in an empty room. I turned around and the town doctor was standing there watching me. He asked if I was sick and preceeded to yell at me. "People are dying here, yada, yada, yady. There wasn't anyone to work, everyone was sick, there were only two nurses on. I get a call from the DON, she calls a meeting with me and the administrator ( this is a county hospital & LTC facility) I get all kinds of crap, she says " you said you were well enough to work." Ya, they made people work sick all the time....what's so different about today. I get confused, do you want me to come in sick or stay home. they are never satisfied. I had 103-105 temp last winter and they question is that enough to stay home...you tell me. |
