NCLEX scheduling the test
Posted 2 months ago I will graduate in a few weeks and wanted to see the schedule for the tests in the area. Does it sound correct to all of you that I can not access a schedule until after my name is turned in as having graduated from my university? This just seems so odd to me, surely I am not the first person who needs to know the schedule so I can plan around it (we are moving to another state, selling our house...).
What have I missed here, or is this just an odd process that I am going to have to wait out?! TIA! |

Posted 2 months ago My friend had to play the waiting game also. She did the regent home study Excelsor RN program. She applied in two States though, Las Vegas, and California. I guess each state varies. I know the NCLEX is nationally accrediated, so the testing process is the same. I know from experience, the state of board of nursing has to have all the registration information before they can give you a testing date. Since you are moving to another state, it might take longer, because they have to get the information from your University. Good Luck!!! I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health.

Posted 2 months ago When I graduated, we had to wait for the school to submitt our information. We then received an Authorization to Test number. When we received that we could go on and pick the date we wanted to test. I graduated May 11, didn't receive my ATT until early June, and then alot of the dates were filled. I tested the end of June. This was in NC. Hope this helped.

Posted 2 months ago Thank you both so much for the info. I called Pearson Vue, but of course their business i outsourced and I talked to a man half way accross the world who really didn't know the answers to my questions. I will get my application for MA in asap, and hope for the best...dang they certainly don't make this easy on us, now do they?! Thanks again. :)

Posted 2 months ago The way that I understood it also, the state does not give pearson vue your information until they recieve your certificate of completion; which was sent out by our school the day we graduated. I sent in my application to the state and made my account with pearson about 6 weeks before I graduated which was last week. I recieved my ATT this week. I have not scheduled yet though, because I am not quite ready to take the NCLEX yet, but the testing center I am taking my test at offers tests every day of the week, so it does not sound like it will be too extremely hard to schedule one. Good luck!

Posted 2 months ago LadyTiger44 you might want to consider scheduling now even if it's a month down the road. When I got my ATT I looked at 3 different centers that tested everyday and it was weeks before I could get an appointment to test. I didn't think it would be a problem but it was. I graduated in May got my ATT the first of June and couldn't get scheduled until July. I just had to keep checking back, b/c people do cancel. I tested the end of June. I don't know where you live, but that's how it was in NC. Good Luck

Posted 2 months ago I graduated May 9th and I got my "authorization to test" May 16th! I scheduled myself to take NCLEX May 27th. I wasn't able to schedule a date until I first received my ATT because there is a number on the ATT that you need to enter during the scheduling process. Here's how it works... After you graduate your school will send a list of graduates to the state board of nursing. I was fortunate that my school sent the names out right away by overnight mail. Once the state board of nursing receives the list then they will update their computer and will then send your info to Pearson Testing Centers. Then Pearson will send you an ATT via email. At that point you can go on the website and set up your date to test. It was really quick for me because my college graduated early in the month of May. Since so many colleges are graduating around the same time the state board of nursing will get really backed up. This may cause a delay for you. Good luck and I hope you hear from them soon!!

Posted about 1 month ago I just graduated (at the end of May) and I already had an account with Pearson. I sent in my paperwork to the state pretty quick and registered online at the same time. I received my ATT on June 4th. I'm in Boston and I have been checking everyday for the nearest 5 test sites (and there are actually several near me 4 of which are within an hours drive) and they are ALL full through the end of July. These are all site that according to the schedule test everyday as well. I'm sure it depends on your location but I looked in Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Connecticut and nothing. I am taking my exam in Albany, NY which is a 4 or 5 hour drive from me just to be able to take it in mid-June. So I would recommend if you have a time in mind to schedule even if you aren't ready. You can always schedule a month away and if you still aren't ready as it gets closer you can always reschedule. They won't let you even see the schedule until you get your ATT at least that's how it was for me.

Posted about 1 month ago I would go back online daily and see if there are openings. I actually went on two or three times a day looking, b/c there are always people changing their test date. That is how I got in sooner than I did. I was going to be in July, but I kept checking back and found one I could schedule sooner.
