Pinning was Wednesday!  After all the headache, heartache, worry, stress, sleepless nights, wondering if I was doing the right thing, not seeing my family, eating from a bag ... I've got my ADN!  I'm a Graduate Nurse!!    

No more papers, no more suitcases full of books, no more laboriously written care plans that they tear up anyway and that don't matter a bit, no more exams ... erm.

Well, one more exam.  The big one.

NCLEX here I come - eek.

Pinning was really well done and very moving - the President of the college spoke, and the Dean, and the Nurse Education coordinator of one of our main hospital clinical sites, and then the pinning itself by our instructors (some cried!!) and the lighting of the lamps, and then the Nightingale Oath.  Very much a link with hundreds of years of nursing tradition and I enjoyed it.  You'll love yours - it's the capstone of all that hard work. 

tdage, we don't get lanterns. We did laterns when I graduated from the Lpn class in '81.  I don't think we get the Nightiengale oath I think, they said something they usally read at the pinnings was religious, so our pinning commitee made a new reading. I'm just glad this part is coming to an end. How are you going to get ready for NCLEX?  I have Saunders and Kaplin, some are going to the Drexel university program but I'm not sure if it's worth it.  Again congrats

I have Saunders, and Davis, and Kaplan books.  Was thinking about the Drexel course, b/c of the NSNA discount, but IDNO if the money is worth it.  I think I'm going to take the plunge and subscribe to at least one online test bank, tho.

It'll happen - sooner than you know.  I thought it would take forever while I was in it, and looking back it all went by so fast.

Someday I may even miss it .... NAH!!!!!!

Congrats tdage. I know you're glad the school part is finally over with. I know when I was in school I too felt it would never end, but then when it was all said and done, I thought, "Man where did the time go."

Well, enjoy your family now, I know they have missed you and good luck on Boards. Let us know when you test
