TIM RUSSERT'S DEATH
Posted 2 months ago Not trying to belabor the sadness and deeply felt sympathy for Tim Russert's family, but have any of you noticed how the major networks and all the cable news networks have exploited the death of this virtual ICON of the american dream? I have permanently removed the programming from my TEVO for his Sunday morning slot on "Meet The Press" and I mourn his death as do many other Americans . But am I the only one that thinks Television should shut the hell up and let the man rest in peace? Have they not beat this story beyond all reasonable limits? Your opinion if you dare. Thanks Joel Carpe Diem.... Joel |

| Posted 2 months ago I was thinking that yesterday when they spent time with Katie Couric & one or two other folks talking about how they met him and blah, blah, blah...I didn't know who the guy was; never watched "meet the press". What I saw was the networks bathing in their own self-indulgence. Mourn publicly, but briefly. Then mourn privately & as long as you need. |

| Posted 2 months ago He was actually one of the few political commentators I could stand to watch on Sunday mornings, because he asked questions, didn't try to anger people, and actually gave them a chance to answer the questions. That is not to say that he didn't challenge or ask hard questions, but he didn't feel the need to antagonize people. |
