Hi there,

I was wondering how important having a car is for a Nurse, at here where I live, there are no after hour buses. Do nurses have to consider the means of having a vehicle to get to their workplaces because the many different areas of locations they work in during their after-hours work or is it usually situated into 1 hospital?

Thanks

Han

In our situation, we have a work vehicle & the family vehicle.  Couldn't survive any other way.

A vehicle is like and extension of the americans hand.......  We complaign about the gas prices, but here we are again at the pump getting our tank full that costs  #@!@!# $5:00 more then last #$%%$&^% time.  We have 4 vehicles.  UGH!!!!  A tahoe was our first, the expo was second during a break-up time and I needed my own car and the Camaro which was his second car during the break-up.  We also have his company pick-up.  LOL  We only drive two on any given day.  Talk about excess.

When I first came to Lodi I did not know anyone here.  There is only one cab for all of this town and the next (no calling for a ride at a set time because no guarentee he will be in town at the time specified.  A bus does run during the daytime but only every 30 mins so out of luck if you miss it.  I went down and got a car the second day in town before even starting my orientation.  Alot of people ride bike, but in 114* heat I do not think it wise to start a shift with a 20 min bike ride......
