| Posted 4 months ago I did my ADN through distance learning. You have to be a self-starter, and make your own learning opportunities. There are ADN to MSN programs out there--Excelsior College has one where you earn the BSN during the program. The only two they offer are MSN nursing admin, or education. Basically, you are getting your BSN and a masters focused on either supervision or education. Excelsior eliminates 3 classes that would be repetitive this way. Saves a little money and time. |

| Posted 4 months ago cmckeag - how did you earn your ADN through distance learning? Where I am from you have to go through an ADN program in order to earn your ADN. You can the basic courses through distance learning but otherwise - you have to be accepted into an ADN program. |

| Posted 4 months ago You can go from ADN to MSN without a BSN if you have a BA or BS in another field- its often refered to as "bridging program"... |

| Posted 4 months ago I graduated in the Spring and was accepted into the RN-BSN program that Fall. I hadn't even taken the NCLEX yet. As long as there isn't a huge waiting list and as long as you meet all of the criteria you should be able to get into an RN to BSN immediately after your ADN. I believe some programs will accept even if your pending certain criteria. Just ask. |

| Posted 4 months ago One of our local universities has an ADN to MSN program. The big BUT is you have to have had a 3.5 GPA in nursing classes and a cumlative GPA of 3.0 to even be considered. Then, if you fail out at some point, you have nothing to show for it. It is an all or nothing program. Celebrate breastfeeding! |

| Posted 4 months ago soswalt- you can go through Excelsior College out of New York and do you ADN on-line completely. Your clinicals are taken at one of 6 different hospitals throughout the US. I did this and I did my clinicals in Geogia. Before starting this program, you need to make sure that you board of nursing accepts the program. Excelsior also has a ADN to MSN program on-line. The good thing about this one is if you decided to stop at some point and not finish the program, if you have enough credits, you will earn your BSN. Celebrate breastfeeding! |

| Posted 4 months ago I appreciate this information. I will check into it and also contact the nursing state board to see if they accept this program. I have never heard of it and am glad to get this information. If the board accepts this program - this may be just what I need. |

| Posted 4 months ago shan4691 - I looked at the website for Excelsior. From what I can gather - I need to already have at least my LPN license before I can be considered for acceptance. I don't have that. I am still working on my basic courses to be able to apply to nursing school. |
