Posted 4 months ago I thought I would just start this thread so we can post websites that have interesting information on it about nursing school and other stuff. Its like this: I have three weeks till my first nursing class and I'm just trying to get all the advice and information that I can soak in and I'm really looking foward to clinicals. So anyway here is a site I found talking about how to get ready for your first clinical day. Even though I know we will get this information in class. I'm just a nervous, excited new student. Anyhow here is the site: |

| Posted 3 months ago I am looking into nursing schools here in the Tampa, FL area. I am determined to persue RN studies in oncology. Cancer runs in my family and this is motivation. However, advice from those more experienced is very much welcomed. Maggie |

| Posted 2 months ago Hey everyone!!! I just joined the NursingLink family and found your group. I figured it would be a nice group to join. My name is Snezana. I live in Detroit, Michigan and I am relaxing until January when all heck breaks loose. I have been admitted into an Accelerated Second Degree BSN program at Oakland University. This means that come January 2009 until December 2009, I will do nothing but eat, sleep and breath nursing. If anyone is entering or has already been through a similar accelerated program (or any nursing program), I would LOVE to hear any advice or comments that you may have for me. Nursing has always been a strong passion of mine. I finally decided to return to school following a 5 year hiatus. I earned a Bachelors of Science in Allied Health Science 6 years ago. At that time I was in a Physical Therapy program. I changed my mind from Nursing to Physical Therapy after my grandfather lost both of his legs (above the knee) within 1 year and was determined to walk again. His drive and determination were a true inspiration that anything is possible once you put your mind to it. My grandfather was walking around on prosthetics within 6 months at the age of 72!!! I know that this accelerated program is going to be tough, fast paced, as well as physically and emotionally draining. However, I take the inspiration, drive and determination that my grandfather showed day in and day out... and I have put my mind to it, therefore it can and will be done.
