Posted 10 months ago Each exam taker for the NCLEX seems to finish different amounts of questions before the test ends. How many did each of you finish? What test taking strategies do you have for those who have yet to take the exam? |

| Posted 10 months ago I took my exam almost 10 years ago, but I remember it clearly. I made a point to not study too much because it would make me crazy. I ended up with 76 questions. When I got to #75, I thought the computer would shut off at any moment. When it gave me #76 I thought I was going on forever, but it shut down after that question. Then I panicked. I knew I did either really good or really bad. Obviously, I did good! |

| Posted 10 months ago I've been studying the Lippincott PN review made easy. The book said, the computerized test questions get harder, when you answer the majority of the questions right, and if you are doing poorly, the questions get easier. Is that true.? I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted 10 months ago The first time I took the test I received 265 and the second time I had 75. My advice would be to do practice questions. And the when you sit to take the test, relax. There is enough time to finish. Try not to think about the level of difficulty of each question. |

I wasn't concerned about the level of difficulty of the each question, I was inquiring about the test questions, from what I read from the NCLEX Study books. I have over 7 programs installed on my 2 computers at home, plus 5 study websites. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted 10 months ago The computer shut off at 75 questions after about an hour. I had used the NCLEX Review book all through school for studying, homework..everything. I also had a program on my computer & focused on each subject that was being covered in school. I studied my butt off...totally stressed. A week before my test, I decided if I didn't know it by then, I wasn't going to. I got my license 3 days after NCLEX : ) woohoo!

| Posted 10 months ago When i started it was kind of tough but as i continued thinking that at a point it would become easy, it started becoming more n more difficult.I stopped for a while n tears came down my eyes bcoz i had studied for 4 months almost 16-18 hrs per day.i couldnt afford to fail in my first attempt after studying 7 books.But to all the ppl who work hard,i have only one advice-Dont take it too hard.Even if u don study much-Just answer the one u feel is the most practical, appropriate and priority ,situation based answer that places importance on your patient safety n u will come out with flying colours.Good luck to all aspiring friends.And ya-My system shut off at 75 ...For all the while i was scared i wud fail but i passed.so don think abt difficulty level of questions as Knight1t said. |

| Posted 10 months ago When I took it mine shut off at 86 - people told me that I probably failed, but I didn't. I still can't explain it. How does this happen? |

| Posted 10 months ago I got 75 questions and passed. I took practice tests on the NCLEX 3500 all throughout the year. I also took Kaplan and did their questions on the Qbank |

| Posted 9 months ago For the LPN here in Georgia a possible of 265 I think and I answered only 88 and that darn thing cut off, scared me half to death that I failed it.

| Posted 9 months ago I took the PN NCLEX on Sept 10, it shut off at 85 questions and I was sure I failed. 2 days later I got my results on line and I passed, I could not believe it. My only advice is to study, study, study, know all you can. It can only help. |

| Posted 9 months ago 78 here. its based on the percentage of right to wrong. The computer will shut off once you continue to make fifty percent of the hard ones correct. If you continue to make fifty percent of the easy ones correct then you fail. If you are sitting on the fence, more questions!!! until you are either 50 one way or the other. Unless of course you hit 275 first. You have to at least answer 65 questions regardless and then 10 research/test questions which do not count. tip fo study time- answer about 3000 questions. Make sure the answers include rationales. Good luck. |

| Posted 9 months ago I took my NCLEX and had 151 questions. I was sweating so bad I couldn't even keep my shoes on(flip flops). The Kaplan online course is extremly helpful. www.kaplantesting.com. They alo have another school session in January. |

| Posted 5 months ago Hello!! I took my NCLEX test yesterday and it stopped at 76 questions. I was happy, scared, sick , and extremely nervous. I am believing that God blessed me to pass. I did over 3000 questions from two review books and discs. I will get my results tomorrow. Pray for me! Tina |

| Posted 5 months ago i took my nclex today. it shut down after 85. it had a lot of medical diagnosis that I had not heard of and then focussed on the kidneys for a while. it was weird. i hope i passed. |

| Posted 5 months ago I just took my nclex yesterday and had 156 questions!!!! I thought that was a strange number. Does anyone know of any friends that had a odd number like that on the exam.

| Posted 4 months ago I took the N-CLEX RN Thursday and I had to work Friday. My day at work was terrible. My computer shut down at 75 and I was happy because all my friends said that it was a good thing. I took the Sylvia Rayfield course offered at my job and studied very little. But at work a friend said her shut down at 75 and she failed so I had this hurting feeing in my chest all day until I found out. But it was cool my strategy was to get my anxiety under control. |

| Posted 4 months ago I was to add that the web site to purchase her books Sylvia Rayfield books is www.icanpublishing.com she makes everything very simple and her course was very fun. I had all the books Kaplan, Saunders, Lippincott, Med Surg Sucess. But these books you should have done during nursing school. You don't have time to do all these books if you have a life I have 4 children a husband and was working!!! If I can do it, all is possible. But I have passed boards and I can tell you that is the greatest feeling. 75 QUESTIONS |

| Posted 2 months ago i had 82 questions for my nclex-lpn. i got so neverous when the computer shut off @ that. cause it said in the instructions that u have usually a min of 95. it was the most stressed out 24 hrs i had ever had. now i've been a nurse for almost 2 yrs. and don't second guess yourself. i learned that in nursing schoool that ur first instict is usually right. |

| Posted 2 months ago I graduated May 11th, 2005 and I took my RN NCLEX on Tuesday June 28, 2005. The computer shut down after 76 questions. I knew there was a minimum of 75 questions, and when it went on to the 76th question, I thought "Oh Man, How much longer am I going to be here." Then it just quit after 76. I was relieved in a way, but scared to death too. I have no idea how long it took me. I didn't even pay any attention to what time it was when I walked out. I just knew I had failed. I can't even remember what kind of questions I had. I only know that I didn't have any math questions, and I had a few herb questions and a few choose all that apply. On Friday July 1st, 2005 I called go get my results, and when they gave me my license number I just cried. I couldn't believe it. Between graduation and testing I did approximately 4000 questions out of different NCLEX review books. I didn't take a NCLEX review course. The college I went to was really good to have NCLEX type questions on the test. I saw many questions on my tests at school that were in the NCLEX review books. We have an excellent pass rate at my school. Pass rate on first attempt was 96% in 2003, 100% in 2004, 97% in 2005, 100% in 2006, and 95% in 2007. I have to brag, and say that's pretty good.
