I am an LPN now. I am taking courses to get my associate RN. Through Excelsior. Very simple, a little bit more expensive but totally worht it. You study at home, take a test to get the credit and move on to the next course. At the end you do the CPNE as stated above, take the rn nclex and have your RN. It is difficult because you have to have the self motivation to study, no due dates etc. And when you test you test on the entire content of the subject not just a few chapters. So to all the excelsior "haters" I know yuo are out there, we work hard too. It's not easy. Just more practical for working mothers. Grateful for that. Even the University in our town hates excelsior and passes lies about how it's not accredited and you can't get a job just cause they are losing students to them. Go for it I say.
