So far other members have started posts about malfunctioning features on this site. I contributed to some of the posts--agreeing with the others--and then quickly adapted to the malfunctions and annoyances. Silly me:  I believed site administrators when they wrote that they'd correct the problems. I haven't seen the problems fixed, but I have seen them multiply. Some examples follow:

--I occasionally get e-mail addressed to other members.

--I occasionally get e-mail that's twisted:  it looks like a composite of two separately sent e-mails; I can't tell for sure if the twisted versions are addressed to me or not.

--I'm still getting about 30 e-mail prompts a week to take quizzes. What's it been now, dmazement and cdnurse, about 3 weeks since a site rep said they'd work on the problem? Longer?

--The general "SEARCH" feature does not work. I found it malfunctioning last night (Friday, September 5th).  Anyone know how long it's been on the fritz?

--The "SEARCH" for friends feature doesn't work, or maybe I should say, it delivers some sensible responses, and some irrelevant ones.

--The "ACTIVITY" feature does not work. I found it malfunctioning last night. Anyone know how long it's been on the fritz?

Here are some other malfunctions, which I am probably the only one who cares about:

--When I make a comment, the site adds increments of 2 and sometimes 4 to my total. So if I had 1000 comments and I make another comment, the site represents my comments as "1002," or occasionally, "1004."

--About 4 months ago, I sent 3 e-mails to administrators asking them to shorten one of my pages from about 6 to 8 feet--that's a single page's length--to several pages of shorter length. Since then, site administrators have shortened some other pages on the site that grew very long, but not mine. When I can load my extensively long page, it's takes over 3.5 minutes ( I timed it.) Sometimes, my browser freezes when I load that page, though I reset my browser's page capacity from 50 megabytes to 999 megabytes. Oh, yes, my hard disk has over  1000 megabytes of spare room to temporarily help load a page.

Those are the malfunctions and annoyances I happen to remember.

What say you, folks? Do you want your e-mail transmissions for various members to reach me or someone else by mistake? Would you like some of the other features on the site to work? Do you believe you should get a better deal?

My friend dmazement observed that site administrators are quick to "placate" us with promises of fixes, but glacially slow about implementing them.

Finally, I'd like to consult the members of this site about one other matter. Do you think that now that I've posted this issue, some of the site's staff will finally accept my invitations for friendship? That includes Currin, JonZ, and NLGeneralManager. Each has failed to respond to--or declined--at least three of my invitations.

I wonder if it's something I might have said that offended them.

ROFLMAO! Lunar, you have such a "tactful" way of putting things! I agree with you, something needs to be fixed, PDQ. As for the declines of friendship, I can only guess it's your caustic attitude??? LOL Oh well, their loss!!!

  Thanks emtpixie.

I thought I'd include another long-standing glitch. There's forum topics I've been involuntarily following on a personal "Forum" page. Reason:  months ago you could delete some of the forum topics you didn't want to follow. An apparent malfunction prevented you deleting ALL the topics you didn't want to follow.

Since that time, the malfunction seems to have grown worse. Now I can't remove ANY topics I don't want to follow from that page.

Well it's been about eight or nine months on the quiz requests, at least cd and I started asking to have the feature changed during the late winter months.  Since we're rapidly approaching the fall season, I'm quessing it's being ignored, as many of our other suggestions/requests/observations/complaints.  When initially started this request about the emails, the response was you can turn off your email feature.

lunarcaustic, you make me proud!!!!!

lunar, maybe the staff, like some of us members on here, are not fooled by you and your ""otehr personalities"  and that is why they are not responding to you.

  "Other personalities"?

Do you work for Nursing+Link, iluvnrsing? Family member, maybe?

Moreover, how do my apparently multiple personalities apply to all the malfunctions--errant e-mail, arithmetic mistakes, wayward "SEARCH" features, and features that just don't work?

Am I missing something, here? Anyone else want to see more fixes, and less talk and promises?

I do, especially I want to delete things I don't wish to participate in, from my lists.  I want to be able to change my topic title, in case I have a typo or delete the topic all together, if I decide I don't like it.  I want games to be separate from relevant topics.  My list goes on, but it never seems to happen.

the topics of the games/reak time has been brought up often. And often, many are ofended. I have not seen anyone say NO GAMES. Once again, like several others have requested, just get the brektime topics and games in a spot so they do not cause the other topis to get lost.

The break time games are a problem. If you are offended, so be it. It has been a problem for months. Again, no one has ever said NO GAMES EVER. What has happened on this site is that the silly goofy things took over. There was nothing wrong with a few of the things that we had on here but enough is enough. Also, the goofy things have crept into areas where they do not bleong, like right here under the nursing link feed back.  Look at other nursing istes and you will not see any of this. I was very surpirsed to see one of the administrative staff start one of these goofy things after all of the comoplanits.

It is just that more than one member has noticed the "collection" and wondering what the deal is. That's all. There are many who have been members for a very long time and many who have contributed a great deal and noticed what is going on. I have not been on here that long but I do see who contributes what and who is collecting. I also pick up on a few other things like I mentioned. You know what I am talking about.

iluvnrsing: you also made a nasty comment that I was "collecting" friends as you put it and I have contributed MORE articles here than anyones else, I would like to know WHO appointed YOU the Nursing Link police?

I honestly don't know what's going on, but this is going way off topic.  Part of the fun here is collecting friends.

I agree, making new friends is part of the fun of being on this site, I have made friends ALL over the country we chat every day, I get tons of questions and I answer every single one before I go to bed.

You have "collected" more friends than people who have been on this site for over a year and have been on here under this name for only a few months. The articles give more points so in addition to colecting friends, you can collect points.

Thanks, iluvnrsing. Your fussing has helped bring more attention to the malfunctions than I could on my own.

   You helped the cause.

I suspect nurses learn to become stoic early about all the grief they face on the job. I'd say that's a virtue, not a fault. But this is one time where forbearance seems unnecessary.

Months and months have passed with no fixes to malfunctions. Lately, the malfunctions have multiplied.

  I believe we deserve better.

Thanks to the others who supported this issue.

Somewhere I saw that the breaktime junk would not show up under the recent discussions. They  are now showing up there again.
