Posted 2 months ago I am recently working as a CNA/ Patient Care Assistant, for a homecare registry. I am a CHHA which is a Certified Home Health Aid. I didn't know the difference, between a Homecare CNA or Homehealth Care, until I went to my new hire orientation. I attended seven classes all together. Homecare is not the same as Home Health Care, has anyone worked as a Homecare nurse, or Homehealth Aid nurse before., did you know the difference between the two? I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted 2 months ago I have been a CNA for 8yrs and am working as a live-in home health aid. I didn't know that there was a difference b/w Homecare nurse and Homehealth aid nurse. The people here in Milwaukee give the title of Personal Care Worker (PCW) to the uncertified assistants and Home Health Aid (HHA) to the CNA's who work in health care. I guess in different parts of the country we are given different titles, such as the Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) are also referred to as Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN). |

| Posted 2 months ago Personal care workers are under homecare workers, they provide personal care to their clients, you also have homemakers also, they fall under the title come homecare. I was told that homecare workers, that works for a homecare agency, don't do anything that is medical, but if you go to a home healthcare agency, you will have to do things that are medical, anything that you learned medical as a CNA. Here in California, we have a Homecare agency, which is sponsored by the county. It is the IN-Home Supportive Services, whic is a goverment-funded program that pays for services for eligible persons, I also am a employee through them, they are medical. I just wanted to get someone's else opinion about the two, thank you for your comment. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. | Posted 2 months ago Here in NJ, homecare is more of taking care of the clients home. I call it house keeping. Home health care is taking care of the clients needs, bathing, dressing, feeding ect.... I love home health i have been doing it for years. i take care of clients/patients from the time they get sick until they pass away! i have worked a few clients all the way through there hospice days til the end. I feel this job is very self rewarding and fulfilling. you get all kinds of experience being in home health care. HOME HEALTH CARE WORKERS PROVENT PEOPLE FROM HAVING TO GO INTO NURSING HOMES, PATIENTS ARE ABLE TO LIVE IN THERE OWN HOME AND NOT HAVE TO GIVE ANYTHING UP!!! HOME HEALTH CARE IS A VERY FAST GROWING FIELD AND THERE IS A MAJOR SHORTAGE, BUT ITS WHERE TO BE!!! |
