Posted 2 months ago Would anyone mind telling me why it is that the Olympics get televised and raved about over a year in advance but the Special Olympics (which start in Beijing today) get very little to no attention? It's just wrong! |

| Posted 2 months ago I totally agree!!! You'd think by now, someone would realize the importance and televise at least some of it. TONS of volunteeer hours are put into making this event happen. The almighty $$$ again. Advertisers wouldn't buy "air time". Money makes the world go on TV. |

| Posted 2 months ago Yes, I agree that it has mostly to do with the money. Sad. I will watch the Special Olympics! A good man loves God and lives well....but

| Posted 2 months ago I believe that there is a misconception about handicap people, whether it be mentally handicapped or phyically. They very much know regardless of their disabiltiy, they have the ability to be great wonderful, powerful people. In today's society the heart means nothing and the money means everything. I use to work with mentally handicapped when I was in school, and they are loving and brilliant human beings. They deserve the spotlight more than anyone. Taylor's Wife, Navy Wife Proud and Strong!

| Posted 2 months ago In college, I worked for the handicapped in a school. We had blind, deaf, and crippled children. One of my favorite kids had Spinabifida. His spine was messed up from birth and he couldn't use his legs. We used to pick him up and carry him to the bases while playing baseball. He was always a happy child. It is funny how those with handicaps can be just as happy or even happier than those of us with no handicaps. A good man loves God and lives well....but
