 I have one and it definately gives me an edge over my classmates in LVN school. I have tabers and Davis drug guide on a palm

I love my Palm Pilot, and even though it is a dinasour compared to some, it has had more data at my fingertips than  any drug handbook could possilby give. I even have drugs from other countries, which is invaluble living in Florida, and having patients from different countries and islands.

I am planning to get a PDA too once I decided to go to Nursing Program  this coming year.

I never used mine.  I guess because I am old school it is just as quick for me to look in a drug book.  I just never could figure out how to work the thing.  I have my ER nursing hand book which I love!!!  It gives you all the cardiac rhythms and quick ACLs algorythms, common drip rates, etc. it is like a little quick fact note book and it is pocket size.  I have just used it for so many years that I know where everything is.  I also have one that is specialized for med surg. which gives you quick facts for the med surg units.

Is that the one that you can write on and use an alcohol wipe to erase?  I used one of those before.  Pocket size, great if you like cargo pocket pants. Has a place for stickies, refernces for labs common drugs, sections for Med-Surg, Peds, etc.  I think mine even had cultural differences and some phrases.  Lost it years ago, but was good for me, before PDA's.  Spiral bound and sturdy laminated pages, got it in the healthcare section of Barnes and Noble.

Yeah I am more old school with things.....I am going today to look for something like this at Barnes and Nobles....

I have one and I know it help. I work passing meds on the nightshift and never can find the drug books. So carry mine is faster and I have all the updates. But it great in class too.
