Posted 2 months ago I would like to hear from other nurses or nursing students who are pro-life and who have enormous concerns with Obamas blatant disrespect for human life. Share your thoughts and fears..... |

| Posted 2 months ago I believe that this defines the character of a politician........the disregard for a viable life and withholding medical care is plain evil. Even if people were to check facts on policies regarding the governing of our country, I believe the character of the man/woman wanting this power is very important. In other words, a bad man with disregard for the life of innocents. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted 2 months ago I have seriously struggled with this election based on Obamas view of abortion. I cannot vote for a man who so callously disregards life. I would love to ask Mr. Obama how he would feel about his own children being aborted. I'm sure he would have some eloquent quip ready and waiting. But I certainly agree with you, that his view on partial birth abortion and the born alive act most definitely define his moral character. |

| Posted 2 months ago Perhaps you should go here, http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/obama_and_infanticide.html and read the entire page before you pass eroneous judgments. Obama's critics are free to speculate on his motives for voting against the bills, and postulate a lack of concern for babies' welfare. But his stated reasons for opposing "born-alive" bills have to do with preserving abortion rights, a position he is known to support and has never hidden. Deb

| Posted 2 months ago No erroneous judgements. (by the way, erroneous is spelled with two r's) The facts are the facts. Obama voted against the born alive act 4 times. The final time he voted against it was after he very vocally promised to vote in favor of it if the language of the bill was changed to match that of the federal bill. He specifically asked for this because he didn't want the bill to impose on Roe vs. Wade. The language of the bill was in fact amended and he still voted it down. I criticize any man who condones live children to be left alone to die, cold and trembling in soiled utility rooms. I find absolutely NO justification for this. Nor do I find any justification for partial birth abortion, which both Obama and his wife support. Killing a child should never be considered a "right"....EVER! If you want more choices then make them prior to conception. Furthermore, since you are clearly very pro-"choice", then perhaps you should seek a forum more closely matched to your moral convictions. I don't think this is the one for you. |

| Posted 2 months ago Sorry for my typo on erroneous. Having assisted with late term abortions and know how the fetus is treated, I suggest you refrain from getting your information on their disposal from prolife sites. Just so you know this is how you spell closely or perhaps it was a typo like mine? Deb

| Posted 2 months ago I'm with you, dmazment. I am pro-choice. When I was in my 20's, I was pro-life. Over the last 20+ years in nursing and seeing a lot of things that opened my eyes, has made me a believer in pro-choice. Let the woman choose what she wants to do with her body....and hopefully we can use those stem cells from those aborted babies to help the living. "a day without freckles is like a night without stars" |

| Posted 2 months ago I have always been pro choice, but that has always meant the women has the choice. Either way, there is a choice. Why put down people that choose that abortion isn't right...that is their choice...Yeah? There has to be a limit though, it seems. If the child is viable then shouldn't that little person be treated so, I can't even imagine watching the little being left to die all alone because that wasn't expected when having the abortion. Can't they take the little one and be human to it, we don't treat our animals in that manner. It's hard enough to watch someone that has a whole life to live leaving in difficult death... In advance sorry for any misspellings. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time. |

squirmals, my point is this. They take their information from prolife sites and do not know how the fetus is treated post abortion. They are not left to die alone in a utility room. Mainly my angst with prolifers is this. Many feel they have the right to prevent those who have made a choice, preventing them many times by using force. I don't understand why prolifers continually try to force their beliefs on others. Deb

| Posted 2 months ago I agree. Watching people kill people behing the diguise of pro life. In my clinicals, way back when there was a baby bundled in the blue rags sitting in a sink in the back room, my imagination just pictures a baby struggling for life until the end...who knows, I don't remember the circumstances. I'm totally a Libra and can see both sides and can flip both ways. I just hate to see any body to die in pain or neglected. Please don't pay any attention to my misspelled words or typos. Sorry I'll try harder next time. |

Nobody is forcing their belief on anyone, this forum was created to ask about prolifers views on this issue. CD.............the war wasnt fought by only Americans...............we have/had alot of soldiers from UN member countries. This forum is about prolife issues in the United Statesand Obama's stance and on Late Term Abortion. not the killings of civilians in a wartime scenario. BTW, my kid has been to Iraq twice, he volunteered as did all of the other soldiers and sailors that went. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted 2 months ago I'm pro choice and still voting Republican. It is not my staple issue for the election. I am pro-choice. That does not mean I am pro-abortion. I work in a trauma center and would move heaven and earth to save a life. Anyone can choose to keep their baby (key word choice). Sometimes an abortion is needed or necessary. That decision should be made between a woman, a doctor and her maker. I am pro-education to keep unwanted preganancies away. I am not against teaching abstenence to teenagers. I think its best, but some kids don't and/or won't listen. They need the facts. |

| Posted 2 months ago Perhaps in many hospitals in this country babies aren't left to die in soiled utility rooms. But in at least one hospital in Illinois, it happened repeatedly. Ever heard of Jill Stanek? She worked at Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Il. She has testified more than once before the National and Illinois Congressional Subcommittees describing the atrocities she has witnessed. Whats most interesting is that these live birth abortions took place in the very state that Barack Obama represents. Why? Because he voted against the ban. Jill was joined by another nurse who also worked at the same hospital and witnessed live babies left alone in utility rooms, and one who was accidentally thrown out with the garbage. Ms. Stanek lost her job because she could no longer stand by and allow these things to continue. Anyone who is interested in learning more and hearing the horrific truth about these abortions, which incidentally are happening in hospitals all over this country and are being covered up, should simply google Jills name. You can read her entire testimony....it's sickening, but maybe that's why so many people don't want to hear about it. The turth can sometimes be an ugly thing. |

| Posted 2 months ago angie: are you saying that prolife is selective as cd was suggesting? That a senseless war killing thousands is okay. death penality is okay. but no abortion? darla |

| Posted 2 months ago I wonder why all of you think when a pro choice nurse sees a topic such as this, we wouldn't be drawn to the forum to post on the topic so both sides are equally represented. The same with all the political issues. angienwgeorgia seems to think using force to prevent those seeking abortion is not forcing beliefs on others. Deb

| Posted 2 months ago Have you considered that Obama openly discusses his desire to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies, therefore reducing the number of abortions? I think there is a great deal of difference between believing that a woman should be allowed her own personal choice depending on her life circumstances, and "callously disregarding life." Let's not forget that even when abortion has been illegal, they were still performed. What about the disregard for those lives lost to unsanitary and dangerous conditions? Are we to assume that if Roe v. Wade is reversed that the same thing won't happen again for women beleiving they have no other choice? Here's an idea, lets worry about reforming the foster care/adoption system so that women might feel it is a safer option? HMJensen |

| Posted 2 months ago Anyone who can stomach the real life horrors of abortion should view the video on durarealidad.com. I warn you, it's graphic. My guess is that many can't or won't view it. It's easy to bury one's head in the sand when you don't have to actually see the images. Many individuals who are in support of abortion have no idea what actually transpires during one or after one. Anyone who can view this video and walk away without feeling sick clearly has no heart. I wonder how many of the children on this video who were so cruelly and literally ripped to shreds had a mother whose life was in danger. I wonder how many of these children were actually conceived from rape or incest..... I challenge any pro-"choice" supporter to view these images and not admit that what we allow to happen everyday in this country is an absolute abomination. These images are the truth behind abortion. |

| Posted 2 months ago I viewed it, since my spanish is very rusty I understood very little, but enough to know this was done for shock. It is also a prolife site, albeit spanish. My point through all of this, is women have the right to choose and prolifers do not have the right to remove the choice. I don't want to return to back alley abortions and watching a desperate young girl/woman lose her life, bleeding, ripped and torn from a botched abortion. I have had the displeasure to witness this a few times and would really rather not return to it. I very much agree with what hmjensen said Deb

| Posted 2 months ago Of course it is shocking....it should be. Whether the site is pro-life or not, the ugly truth is the ugly truth. I can't count the times I have had pro-"choice" supporters refuse to even view images of such caliber. Why? Because to see it with one's own eyes is to admit that it is happening. And my point is this....a child should NEVER be a choice. If women want more choices they should be made prior to conception, not after the fact. Women have control over their bodies far before conception ever occurs. Don't want back alley abortions? Perhaps the women of our world should be just that.....women. You don't want to see a young woman ripped an torn from a botched abortion....wouldn't that be her choice, as you call it? A female never has to choose abortion on demand. Women today still die from botched abortions, not to mention the emotional trauma which often never heals. But it's ok to see millions of babies, innocent babies at that, ripped and torn from abortion... pure hypocracy. At any rate, this forum was not designed to argue with pro-"choice" advocates. It was desigend to hear from other medical professionals who are pro-life and who are concerned with the repercussions that FOCA would envoke. I would like to refrain from any arguing and unprofessionalism. |

| Posted 2 months ago I do not consider this arguing but discussing or debating. I have not been unprofessional. You talk of hypocrisy, so aren't the acts of some pro lifers killing doctors who perform abortions and nurses who assist them hypocritical? Deb
|
| Posted 2 months ago Yes, it is definatly murder to kill a doctor or bomb a clinic because of abortion. That is not the issue here. This kind of behavior is advocated by a very small portion of the "pro-life" group. Please don't lump all pro-lifers with a few nuts. They are criminals. Just like all Muslims do not believe it was right to fly commercial airliners into buildings, not all pro-life people would go and murder people who perform abortions. Redneck I is...but bigot I taint! |

| Posted 2 months ago Is the pro-life group arguing that abortion should be illegal in all cases? Just in a select few cases (incest, rape, mother's life is in danger, etc)? If you believe abortion should be illegal, what should the consequences be for A) The woman who elects to have an abortion, and B) The doctor who performs the abortion? |

This is not taking either side, it's just a comment on the thinking process. A lot of "pro-choice" people don't seem to understand why "pro-life" people would "take away their right to choose." Very simple. Here it is: "Pro-life" people truly consider abortion to be the murder of an innocent person. So. therefore, no one should be allowed to "choose" that, just as you should not be allowed to "choose" to kill someone to steal their money. You don't have to agree that abortion is murder, but can't you understand that, since they DO, they honestly feel it's wrong to choose it? |

Yippee..........there are normal prolifers here! I hate it when I get stuck in the same group as the idiots like that guy they found who bombe all those abortion clinics eating out of dumpsters. Good posting lawyerRN, btw. Yall get all up and with drawers in knots because folk like me think LATE TERM abortion is evil. Geez............if a woman gets pregnant, and her life is at stake; if she is pregnant because of rape or incest I have NO problem with the pro choice as a matter women do need the right to choose For Petes sake, for simply humane reasons if no other reason, I hope they have the procedure asap and not wait til it can be viable on its own with medical care. I hope other pro life nurses wont be angry at me for that! Um................and as to the comments about war and the death penalty...................did they change this forum just to start an argument? I'm in no position to judge anyone who is pro-choice and wont do it. I thought this forum was about OBAMA AND LATE TERM ABORTION. CD brought up the war, and I see your point but this is an Obama/late term abortion forum..........then somebody brought up the death penalty. BTW, I'm looking forward to a forum about those along with the forum on 'honor killings' by muslin men against females in the United States, but this isnt that forum! We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |
