I recently posted a bulletin about how my grandma was going through some health problems and was asking everyone to please put her in your prayers. We recently found out that my grandmother has leukemia about 2 weeks ago. She went to enter the cancer center today only to find out that she will only have about a 10% chance of surviving any treatments that they give to her. They gave her supposedly 30 days to live and i'm falling apart about it. No one has any idea what it feels like to never really have a mom and have this person come into your life only to be taken away. Not to mention that there are people who have know idea why i'm so upset and keep saying the most assinine remarks like well what are you gonna do when they die when you keep makin trips and leaving other things undone in the process. Do you know what I feel like saying to these people at the top of my lungs is "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU? AND PLEASE TELL ME AGAIN HOW YOU SHOULD EVEN BE APART OF MY LIFE? I have to fight with myself not to want to just completely break down every minute right now. Why does it have to be her? I really just need my real friends to keep me on track now when my world feels like it is crumbling down around me.

Thanks for listening!

I am sooo sorry for your situation. It is very difficult to deal with the terminal illness of a loved one, especially someone who means so much to you. I lost my grandmother to lung cancer 6 years ago and although she was not a mother figure to me, I have a very close family. It was very difficult to deal with. What made it harder, was that she lived in Alabama and I live in MI, so I didn't get to spend much time with her. I will keep you and your grandmother in my prayers, and just believe me when I say it does get easier. Just take it one day at a time, and if you feel like crying, just do it, it really helped me out.

I am so sorry to hear about your Grandmother. It must be a shock for you and hard to take it all in. My Mom passed away 2 years ago suddenly and I'm just now coming out of the fog. It's devastating to lose someone so close. But try to imagine what your Grandmother must be feeling. Spend as much time with her as you can. Comfort her and pamper her. Make her smile. Take lots of pictures and even tape record her talking or singing or videotape her. Ask her everything you've ever wanted to know about her. Now that my  Mom is gone, I find there are so many things I'd like to ask her, but I can't. Maybe keeping a diary would be helpful to her-to get her thoughts down on paper and leave a little piece of herself  behind. Concentrate on helping your Grandmother through this horrible time as best you can. After she is gone, you will have lots of time to deal with your feelings. Just take care of her now and make the most of the time you have left with her.  God Bless you both   (ps if you'd likesomeone to talk to-II'm here if you need me)
