I recently did a travel nurse assignment in New Mexico.  I did not realize what beautiful wineries they have there!

They have tastings and live music, and I learned alot about wines.  I was pleasantly surprized.

I get together with my female cousins every year and we play bartender...you bring the ingredients

for whatever new little cocktail you found at a restaurant,,,or by accident. lol

Sometimes we bring wines, serious or silly.

Last year one of my cousins was getting married (again!)

so I got her a wine basket with a bottle of wine called "Fat Bastard" and a bottle called "Royal Bitch". (no offense intended here)

No joke, that's the name of 'em.

She LOVED it!

I also got a bottle called "Old Fart" for my mom and her sister. They are both 79-80 years old. lol

We are members of 2 winery's and get wine monthly. We went to a wine party yesterday in Temecula CA over 36 wineries in this area, I am not a big drinker maybe a glass of wine, but wine tasting is fun.

A busy RN is here

My husband and I have been enjoying wine tasting and visiting wineries lately!  We traveled 24 miles rountrip to several wineries in Erie, Pa. to New York----Bicycling!!! We did this on Sunday, which will probably be the last 'good' weekend in Pa.  By 'good', I mean the weather! As for good recipes, does anybody haave good low calorie recipes for a mix drink???

The "Skinny Girl Margerita"

        on the rocks

What you'll need:

  • 2 oz of clear Tequila (Sauza or clear premium tequila)

(count 1, 2 while you pour, no need for measuring)

  • A splash of fresh lime juice

  • A splash of Cointreau, Grand Marnier or Triple Sec

Combine all ingredients over a glass of ice

Garnish with a lime wedge and salt (or sugar) if you'd like.
