bartender to nurse, no matter what!

Posted about 1 month ago i went out with my boyfriend and our friend, as we went to one club, i started talking to this bartender and she says that she is tired and working so hard. I asked her if was in college, because she was pretty young around early 20s. Anyway, she was trying to get her own apartment and get her daughter back from her mom. So she was trying especially in a club working. But i told her she go to back to school. She said she does and that she wanted to study nursing. i told that i was studying as well. Anyway, she had no resources at all. But then she met me, and I opened her mind up to all the resources available at the local college and in the county as well. Nothing should stop you at what you want to do in your life and goals! I told her to start Monday for her life to change to get it back. Nothng should stop you. |

Posted about 1 month ago i hope this young lady heeds your advice...with determination, anyone can make a difference in their own life, but it takes a lot heart and faith in the grace of God to make a difference in someone else's! Good luck to her, and to you! Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, worn out and screaming "Woo-hoo"!!!

Posted about 1 month ago Maybe you were just what this young lady needed to get her motivated. Perhaps she had noone in her life to offer the support that you did. It's surprising how something we say or do can affect others, people we barely know. Perhaps she will turn her life around and it will be all because of what you said and the time you took to talk to her and to listen.

Posted about 1 month ago We have all at various times in our lives had a "chance encounter' with someone. Sometime that is all it takes to made a difference, either in our own lives or the lives of others. This was one for both of you, and I'm sure both of you will benefit.

Posted about 1 month ago You need to go back to that bar so you can "hear" her accomplishments. And if the steps haven't been made yet, let her know, "don't be scared; change is different, but it can be well worth it". I myself have put my nursing school on hold due to I am the only one working in my household. Come Aug. 2009, the local college will be starting a night LPN program. I have my CNA and all my pre-reqs for RN. Currently I am working back in an office and on call at the local nursing home. I really miss not working in the medical field, but CNA wages don't pay the bills.
