Posted about 1 month ago so i am currently a cna right now and i have been one for 6 years.It has always been my moms dream to be a nurse but she already has a job as a paralegal .which she has been doing for a very long time. So now her dream is for one of her daughters to be a nurse and well my older sister tried it and made it as far as a cna and she quit the first year . my younger sister just wont do it so im the last daughter and since i have been a cna for a while im already half way there i was thinking on getting my plebotomy i always wanted to get into that but i think if im goint to get my phlebotomy might as well just go straight for my nursing i mean im 25 years old and not doing much with my lifebut im also scared cause my partner wants to have a child and i dont know how to tell her that i want to wait a lil bit to make us more stable and i never really been too good in school so if i do go to this nursing class its a year class im scared i might not be smart enough to pass it and its fast paced am i chasing my moms dream or should i just go 4 it im just confused??????????????????? HELP!!!!!!!!! |

There's more to nursing then sticking people and thats what I love about this field there are so many ways to be in healthcare. If you know you would be happier sticking people then having people screaming at you for there pills then follow your heart. Do you really think you have to have RN behind your name to make your mom happy? |

| Posted 14 days ago I wouldn't become a nurse just because your mom wants you to be. You would be miserable! I know you don't want to dissappoint her, but I'm sure she REALLY doesn't want you to be a nurse if you don't want to. As far as being smart enough goes, if you really want it, then you will study hard, and learn the material. So don't worry about being smart enough. Just go for what you want to do and what fits into your life. Like you said, your partner wants a child, so you need to work that out as well as your future careers. |
