North American Union
Posted about 1 month ago I think we are headed in the direction of Europe. We will have the North American Union within 5 years. It will consist of the US, Canada, and Mexico and like Europe others will join. We will become increasingly socialist. We will have surrendered or heritage and sovereignty to those who would like us to be ruled by a group of elites. |

| Posted about 1 month ago Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth into a small section of society who control capital, and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.[1]
social and economic doctrine that calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources. According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another. Furthermore, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it. Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members. A true socialist state would mean equality for all economically. However, I can't really see this happening anywhere, because money is power Deb

| Posted about 1 month ago Some real smart person once said, "freedom is not free, equal men are not free, and free men are not equal." We all may be equal in God's sight morally and as His creations but outside of this concept I'm not sure to what notion one can appeal that arrives at individual equality particularly if one is evaluating or attempting to assign economic worth. Who gets to do that and why? The majority? Can the majority be wrong? |

| Posted about 1 month ago I wish I could answer your questions, but I think for the most part like all animals, humans must have leaders or we have chaos. Is there such a thing as a leader/s who think not of themselves inherently but acts on, leads for the good of everyone? Deb

| Posted about 1 month ago We have laws that are suppose to keep us from utter chaos. Now there are millions of lawbreakers: murderers, rapists, theives, etc.....its up to the individual to be the type person they want to be. Why shoud we try to better ourselves, pay our bills, save up to buy nice things, and improve our lifestyle as a result of good old hard work? I work alot, I always have, I have never had to be on welfare because I worked hard and was blessed with good health. Why should I continue my education to better myself with a higher paying position if the government is going to give it away to deadbeats who are healthy and just dont want to work. Dmazment, you seem to me to be a nurse who works her ass off.............why would you want to do this for lazy people? I know that sounds harsh but I truly do not want to help out my trashy and lazy kinfolk. They are the first ones in line at Quicktrip spending their Friday paycheck on a case of beer, carton of cigarettes, and lotto tickets. What happened with this country when people became idiots, and lazy idiots to boot. They'll be on medicaide before they are 50 because of copd and cirrhosis and yup, I'm related to a bunch of them. When people tell me 'your lucky, you have a good job and benefits', I poopoo that thought real fast. Its not luck, its work. If we turn socialist, why should I and my husband keep working the way we do for the lifestyle we have? Because of those who are not blessed with good health,, and there are alot of folk who are disabled due to mental illness, and for the elderly, we need to save our public service assistance for them, not just any jerk. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted about 1 month ago abednigo2, you commented we're leaning towards socialism where we would be ruled by a group of elites. Seems to me, we're already ruled by a group of elites. Deb

| Posted about 1 month ago Yes, Increasingly we are ruled by a class of elites and their puppets. Now they are trying to stay in power forever by getting rid of term limits, making laws that sound good like the "fairness doctrine" that would primarily effect conservative and libertarian views buy making them give equal time to opponents and the "hate crime laws" that essentially say that if you verbalize opposition to things like abortion, homosexual marriage, opposition to open border policies, then you will be charged with incitement of racial, ethnic, gender hate that could lead to crimes. These policies are promoted by the left and have the goal of silencing the opposition by intimidation and essentially taking away free speech.
Ultimately, we must all honestly ask ourselves, "what is Truth and where does it come from or how do we arrive at it." Most folks these days seem to think "science" has the answers. To me this is "scientism" and a form of religion. All the science classes I ever took taught me that science was essentially a method of research in which a problem is identified, relevant data are gathered, a hypothesis is formulated from these data, and the hypothesis is empirically tested. All science can do is reasonably assure us that certain phenomenon seem to be or act a certain way for a certain amount of time. That's about as good as is gets if man is the final arbiter of truth. I've been in health care and in and out of graduate studies in universities for the last 35 years and every one has their studies and their data and their hypothesis and their statistics and on and on and it always seems to change eventually. Point is it is not Truth with a capital T. One man did claim He was the way the truth and life. You have to ask yourself honestly, "can I rule Him out". If there is Truth the closer we get to it and embrace it the better off we will be. University where we all studied was a place that is supposed to be looking for the unity in the world of diversity that we live in. What ultimately unites you to others and the data around you? Is it personal or impersonal. How do or how can you know this. The answer must be there or one can make a great argument for chaos. I honestly believe that this election more than any other in my life will take us in one direction or the other relative to what is true. |

| Posted about 1 month ago I agree with Abednigo2... We're already partially socialist, and a large, complex society must be, to some extent. But in addition to the implications of further socialism, we're becoming softer, weaker, more sickeningly "politically correct," for want of a better term. Before long we will be a third rate nation, once proud and strong. You will wait in line for months for diagnostic tests at your warm and fuzzy socialized medical clinic. And ALL societies are ruled by an elite, unless your society consists of a couple of hundred people who can sit around and take a vote on everything! Even the idealistic communistic societies developed power elites... Karl Marx predicted the capitalist states would wither, but his communist utopias beat us to it! Right now we have it pretty good - will our great-grandchildren? |

| Posted about 1 month ago This country is a multi diverse nation. We are a nation of many religions and postulating Christianity as the only religion in the USA is incorrect. This country must recognize all religions, philosophies and beliefs in order to survive. We have been from the beginning partially socialist. Deb

| Posted 23 days ago I like everyones ideas and insight to this topic. I just want to point out a couple of things: 1. I really do not get this calling people socialist just because they might want to implement a few programs that might help the masses. If you know your history, our Founding Fathers all had some aspect to their thinking that was socialism when they formed this "perfect union." It has been socialist-based programs that have brought this nation out of some of its most difficult times (ie Square Deal, New Deal, SOCIAL Security, Medicare). 2. This nation is a utopia in the making. We just need to make a few adjustments and have some individial change to mindsets. If you have traveled to other parts of the world or even just watch the news, you would know how easy it is to exist in this country, Liberal or Conserv, Repubilican or Democrat.
