I noticed a thread in an Obama/Biden forum called "Dear Sarah Palin".  It was designed so that people could write their posts as if they were adressing them directly to Sarah Palin.  I thought this might be a fun thing to do in a McCain/Palin forum.  So, if you could say anything you'd like to Barack Obama in a letter what would it be??????

I will no doubt get hammered for my opinion, but I would ask him how he thinks he is qualified to truly be President when he was a state senator and has spent most of time as a US senator campaigning to be President.  And given that his party is notorious for cutting defense and raising taxes, how am I supposed to believe that America will be safe?  National security is at the top of the list for me; we haven't been attacked again since 9/11 and for my son's future and those of fellow citizens, I am voting for John McCain.  Obama just doesn't have the scones to be President.  Maybe one day, but not now.

1.  Never were a ACORN community organizer


2.  Never a ACORN trainer and never worked for ACORN in any other capacity


3.  Said, "ACORN wasnot part of Project Vote, the successful voter registration drive Barack ran in 1992


WHEN in 2007 you promised to give ACORN a role in"shaping his presidential agenda even before elected."


You (Obama) sued on behalf of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. The League of Women Voters and other public-interest groups joined in.


If you lie about this,  what else are you lying about?

He made some flubs in accepting the nomination.

Summary

We checked the accuracy of McCain’s speech accepting the Republican nomination and noted the following:


  • McCain claimed that Obama’s health care plan would "force small businesses to cut jobs" and would put "a bureaucrat ... between you and your doctor." In fact, the plan exempts small businesses, and those who have insurance now could keep the coverage they have.




  • McCain attacked Obama for voting for "corporate welfare" for oil companies. In fact, the bill Obama voted for raised taxes on oil companies by $300 million over 11 years while providing $5.8 billion in subsidies for renewable energy, energy efficiency and alternative fuels.




  • McCain said oil imports send "$700 billion a year to countries that don't like us very much." But the U.S. is on track to import a total of only $536 billion worth of oil at current prices, and close to a third of that comes from Canada, Mexico and the United Kingdom.




  • He promised to increase use of "wind, tide [and] solar" energy, though his actual energy plan contains no new money for renewable energy. He has said elsewhere that renewable sources won’t produce as much as people think.




  • He called for "reducing government spending and getting rid of failed programs," but as in the past failed to cite a single program that he would eliminate or reduce.




  • He said Obama would "close" markets to trade. In fact, Obama, though he once said he wanted to "renegotiate" the North American Free Trade Agreement, now says he simply wants to try to strengthen environmental and labor provisions in it.




Analysis

Sen. John McCain's acceptance speech to the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul on Sept. 4 was couched more in generalities than in specifics, offering fewer factual claims to check than we found in other speeches to the gathering. But we found some instances where the nominee strained the truth.

I think it rather ironic that no one has given a thumbs down to the Dear Senator McCain letter even though a lot of us do not agree with it but Dear Obama has only been up for a few hours and already has 3 thumbs down.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmm!  Like I said earlier in another forum seems like liberals are tolerant as long as you don't disagree with them.


I don't get that.  Tolerance should go both ways.

No matter what pretty kitten says it simply does not matter. Obama will be president and McCain will not. McCain has lost and rightfully so. However, keep it up you all fighting the fight because someone must keep the facts straight.

Maybe no one has wanted to give a thumbs down to your Dear McCain letter. Tolerance should go both ways, it is just harder to tolerate ignorance...Get your facts straight and then maybe liberals will tolerate you. If you disagree with the FACTS that is one thing, but when you mislead people that is another. So tolerance will be granted to you when you get it right and then reject it.....

It isn't my Dear McCain letter.  It is a letter posted on the Obama forums. I don't agree with Obama.  You or anyone else doesn't have to agree with McCain but what's the deal with thumbs down or whatever just because you don't agree.  Why not save the thumbs downs for the truly terrible things.


As far as the election goes, Obama may win.  However, the election is not over yet so lets just wait until after the polls close on November 4th to say who won and then get behind the whoever the winner is for the best of the Country.

Since I am the one who posted A Letter to Senator McCain I want to point out it was posted in HUMOR.  It was NOT posted in a political forum.  I found it funny and I do not apologize for it either.  I intentionally placed it in the humor forum, because I didn't feel it belonged in the political arena.  It was written to be funny, so ya'll get your knickers out of a bunch and stop refering to it as if it was anything but for a giggle.


I would also bet the ranch if it was titled A Letter to Senator Obama, most of you who are ranting about it, would have found it very funny. However, it wouldn't fit Senator Obama.

First of all....this thread was not created to cause attacks against anyone.  If you are NOT a McCain supporter, then please go post in a pro Obama thread, or create an anti McCain thread so you can post all of your ridicule.  All of this arguing and name calling/backstabbing is getting quite old, and it appears as though it is just a few Obama supporters who want to continue to fan the flames.  If you support Obama, fine, but understand, you have no support here or on any pro McCain thread unless you bring your "friends" along with you to help fuel the fire, which is what is happening. l no longer want any part of it.

(in a speech to the Continental Congress, July 4,1776)


The signers of the Declaration of Independence wrote, "With a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."


 


John Adams wrote in July 1,1776 in a speech to the Continental Congress, "Before God, I believe the hour has come.  My judgment approves this measure, and my whole heart is in it.  All that I have, and all that I am, and all that I hope in this life, I am now ready here to stake upon it.  And I leave off as I began, that live or die, survive or perish, I am for the Declaration.  It is my living sentiment, and by the blessing of God it shall be my dying sentiment, Independence now, and Independence for ever."


President George Washington at his inaugural address said, "No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible had which conducts the affairs of men more than the people of the United States.  Every step by which they have advance to the character of an independent nation seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency."

Make no mistake I could type the rest of my life with words just like these from Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Lincoln,JFk and more all seeking the guidance of the God of the Bible which we have thrown out of our schools, the halls of our congress, and almost now from the forum of public debate.  And we wonder why our nation and the world is in the shape it's in?  We wonder why we have a presidential candidate who had a mentor for 20 years  who could scream "God d--n America" ?!


May God grant us continued Grace and Peace.

              Why don't you respect the life of the unborn?  Why do you assume my children are a punishment, and do you feel the same about your own?  How do you think we should deal with all of the other members of society who are non functional and not wanted?  Under your administration will it be ok to abort them as well?

Dear Senator Obama,


In your econ class, did you  miss the part about not raising taxes during economic downtimes. It's tantamount to kicking a man when he's down. Who has the $$ to pay these taxes?


And why do you thing a big government is good. Why don't you agree that Abraham Lincoln's "... Government of the People, by the People for the People, shall not perish from this earth?"


Can you tell me how you'll fund all your social programs WITHOUT raising taxes on Joe the Plumber so that he can carry on business and not have to lay employees off so that he can pay your increased taxes? When you tax the rich employers, why won't they take their businesses off shore (like they did in the Clinton years). Certainly jobs will be lost then, when Rachel the Nurse has to make a decision to move her family  (at her own cost) to Hati or India.


The Rachels who don't decide that India is the trip for them will remain here-WITHOUT A JOB and jobless numbers will go up. Will you be willing to "share the wealth" so that Rachel the Nurse and her family don't starve?


I wish you and I could have a sit down talk about how your health care plan isn't going to bankrupt us at $452 billion a YEAR  X 10  years. At $10 billion a mnoth, Iraq can't keep pace with that.


Lastly, (and I'm sure I'm forgetting something here), why don't you want to give our soldiers who have waged a valient effort and are finally winning in Iraq, the opportunity to come home, victorious, instead of with their tails between their legs, in defeat? We'll not be there a hundred years, but why do you let the American people STILL languish in that misconception?


And last (I know I said the other was last), whey did you promise to use public financing, giving your word and then turn around and use private finaancing, essentially bying the election? If you can't be trusted to do this weeeee little t hing,  how can I trust  your in Washington? No, yours is NOT the chane I can believe in; it's more of the same political rhetoric.

I would say Mr. Barack Obama please don't get into office and forget about all the things you promised the american people. It's time to bring our troops home gradually. Health Care is a big issue, It will be great if you can make it universal. A lot of people will live because of it. Also i hope you meant what you said that we will get a bigger take break if i make under $250,00 a year and spread the wealth around. I just hope you are not saying things that sound good so i will vote for you cause i did. I'm just saying i hope i just didn't vote for  the devil in sheeps clothing meaning a liar. You said things just to be the first black man in the white house and then lied to everyone who voted for you. If you don't keep your word and no one will vote for a black man again. Make a difference and don't be a liar like the rest. See you at the white house.

Dear Barrack Obama.  Please put a stop to late term abortion.  Please be  honest with the American public on your associations.  Please submit a legal birth certificate to ensure this country you are legally qualified to be the President of the United States if you are elected. Please dont turn our country into a place of fear of retribution if your loyal servants speak their mind and you do not approve of what we say.  Please dont take away our constitutional rights.

Dear Obama, will you please secure our borders?  Will you be able to keep us safe from terrorists?  I do hope so. 


Also..................before you share everybodys wealth, please consider doing  background checks on people to see their financial background because alot of us were not just poor, but BAD BROKE?  Maybe you can do a payback to those of us who worked 2 and 3 jobs at a time just to get to keep off welfare while in school so we can feed our kids and keep our home warm in the winter?  Please remember there are alot of us had the dream to 'make a nice life for our kids'., .and during those times when we qualified for welfare but decided to work instead so we can show our children that being on welfare should only be for those who are not able to work due to physical disabilities was the right thing to do?  When we got to the point to where we are now middle class,and worked so hard for this status..........maybe there is a middle ground so resentment will be lesssened, and I hope you can figure that middle ground without taking our possessions we worked hard for to be given to lazy deadbeats who just dont want to work?  I'm sure the backgound checks will be no problem for you, you will have the help of most major networks. 


I  saw on a news show a while back that for getting 'the check',...........that taxpayers will foot the bill for,  there will be a 'work program'.  Can some of them be assigned to me for yard work, cleaning mini blinds and ceiling fans?  That is one way to lessen resentment.  My husband and I do our own housework and yardwork, but if our taxes are going to these people anyhow, how do you get on the list for getting the workers? 


I'm sure I'll get bashed on this and after tonight, the KGB will be at my door.  Oh, is there a medication for political paranoia?  I have an md appt tomorrow for an ear infection and I'll bring it up.
