Posted 11 months ago here's a few of mine: 1) Hope for the best/expect the worst 2) Better to be safe than sorry 3)Some days you step in it-Some days you don't 4) Nothing makes sense before noon 5) When the going gets tough-go shopping! 6) Arriving late is OK as long as you get there(not many people agree with this one!) and of course the golden rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" Oh & 1 more-Always kiss me goodnight!. |

Posted 11 months ago I love them all except I am one of those that disagree with the "being late" statement. In relation to trivial things, like going out with friends or to a party or something, I agree but in terms of one's professional life I always heard: "If you are early you are on time, if you are on time you are late and if you are late you are fired."

Posted 11 months ago I really only have one, it is sort of a mantra. It reminds me of the fact that we are all falible. It is not the mistake you make, rather how you recover from it. With dignity and integrity. Everyone screws up, so this reminds me to be gentle with those who screw up around me. It also speaks to personal responsibility. And a cute one is : Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you.

Posted 11 months ago 1. Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose. In those choices lie our growth and our happiness... 2. Blame no one...Expect nothing...Do something

Posted 11 months ago 1. "Better Late than never." If you're late in coming to work at least you are there to function the days work, if you won't come that's the dangerous part. Who will work for you? So the load of work of your colleagues will be high resulting in ineffective delivery of care. 2. "Do not let words speak for your actions but actions for your word". Whatever you say, you do it, don't just say "I will buy a diamond for you. For years, you keep telling you will buy diamond, but it never happen so buy it, don't just talk, don't keep false promises. But take your credit card..(heheheh) and buy it. 3."Do not do unto others on what you don't want others do unto you" If you respect others, they will respect you the same. I think Karma belongs to this sayings too. Karma, though you will break that spell if you correct your mistakes doing good deeds and sincere forgiveness.

Posted 11 months ago chucrn: I'm with you on the one "Better late than never" You said "if you're late at least you're there"-that's my philosophy! I couldn't agree more. Here's another one of mine: What goes around-comes around.

Posted 11 months ago "And He (Jesus) said to him: 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself.' " (Matthew 22:37-39)

Posted 11 months ago A few of my oldies but stand bys:: God doesn't give me more than I can handle: I just wish He didn't trust me so much! (Mother Teresa) to quote ljr: Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you. and love that from lenix: Between stimulus and response, there is a space. In that space lies our freedom and power to choose. In those choices lie our growth and our happiness…(That's similar to lenix other: It is not the mistake you make, rather how you recover from it.) Come to think of it; we all have some pretty good ones; many of which evolve from the Golden Rule teamRN

| Posted 11 months ago ": Be careful of what toes you step on today because they may be conected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow." I agree with this one at my work - I am so careful not to step on toes at our hospital as they are all connected to one bigger arse ! hee

Posted 11 months ago All of these are great, A sociology professor of mine told us "if it can't change your skin color then it ain't worth getting upset about", Don't burn your bridges as you cross them, I think this may be another way of saying not to step on the toes that might be connected to the ass you might be kissing tomorrow. My grandmother used to say "if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all". "No body has died!"

Posted 11 months ago 'k, I found a new one the other day - posted it in Late Bloomers group, but reposting it here so everyone can enjoy... “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It’s not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
