WORRY (Matthew 6: 24-34)
----------it is a SIN
----------it is the Silent Killer
---------- brings down our defenses
---------- not an illness, but wickedness and evil.
According to the doctors, 5o% worry about the things that will NOT happen,30% can be solved, 12% totally beyond our control and 8% only wothy. In the Word of God, IT IS THE #1 KILLER OF HOPE< JOY AND PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like the old times, people worry of food, clothing, health,etc and tomorrow's problems. Today, the same thing is happening. We forget that WORRY DOES NOT HELP. It never fixed anything but only makes things worst. Worry is the way of the UNBELIEVERS. Cure for worry? FATHER FACTOR- TRUST in GOD with all our minds, hearts and souls not only a part of it.FOCUS FACTOR- PRIORITIES in life, don't focus too much on material things or our agenda. FUTURE FACTOR- Do not borrow tomorrow's trouble.Meaning live your life today, give out your best and let tommorrow run it's course. God has a very wonderful plan for all. Everlasting life and happiness. When we worry we can easily forget God's love, care and promises to us. so, why worry when we can PRAY?

christianwoman: It's true, most of the things we worry about don't even happen. I like the saying "Let go and let God". But I think God needs aliitle help sometimes. My brother was very religious. He felt when it was "your time" to go , nothing you could do would make any difference. It was all in God's hands. He got sick-thought he had the flu. Also thought he had no insurance. (Later we found out he did have insurance ).He kept getting worse but did not seek any medical attention. He was a simple soul and lived meagerly. A hospital was located right around the corner from him but he did not have the money for a ER visit. Finally he collapsed and was taken to the ER where he died shortly thereafter. He was 42 years old! I believe, had he sought medical attention earlier, he would still be here. God gave us intelligence, choices and a will, I believe we need to use these along with God's help. I believe God is there when we need him most but not that he controls every little decision we make. I know alot of you will not agree with me. But that's my 2 cents worth!

One night when my daughter was in a speciality hosp.for 11 daysIt was the third time we had made funeral arrangements for her The dr.s did not think she was going to made it.She was in constant seizure activity.I was outside crying and smoking a cig.(she was in picu).I was praying to god to save her.I did what everyone else does beg, pleaded and even bargained. Then it hit me what god wanted to happen would happened.I decieded to put it in his hands. I said do what you will. I know it's for the best.A peace came over me then and the crying and ranting stopped.I knew I could accept whatever would happened.We were home 2 days later.The med. combo the dr's put her on was finally working.The dr's could not believe it. I have seen many such miracle's in my adult life and really could not explain them so I just learned to accept and not question his working's anymore.

in the Bible , we can see how Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17. Jesus is The Only Intercessor. Jesus prays for His chidren to be sanctified by truth, to be pure, to do the Great Commission--- Sharing the Words of God to all. Our relationship with God through Jesus Christ should be personal and Jesus wants His children to be one with Him.

I REALLY NEED TO HEAR ALL THOSE ENCOURAGING WORDS. I AM FEELING A LITTLE DOWN NOW BUT I KNOW GOD WILL PICK ME BACK UP AND HE DID JUST READING YOUR STORY'S. THANK YOU JESUS

"PULLED AWAY"

"but they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear."Zechariah 7:11

Have you ever placed your hand on someone's shoulder, only to have them twist,turn and pull away?
On occasion a father and mother have spoken to me regarding an unruly adolescent. Often they will inquire and ask that if opportunity presents itself, would I address their concerns in a more personal manner. I usually reply, "Certainly, I will be glad to speak with your child."
After conversing with the young person, I will ask if we have come to an understanding regarding the concerns of their parents. As I ask the the question, I gently place my hand upon their shoulder and make eye contact with them. If the young person pulls away the shoulder, they have displayed the stubborness of a carnal mind. Obviously, this is not foolproof, but it is indicative of the attitude of the rebellious."Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God" (Romans 8:7,8).
Stubborn sinners harden their hearts on purpose lest "they should hear" what God has said to them. They do not regard the wisdom of the Scriptures, though they are the Words of the Lord of hosts, sent and directed to them. In despising them, they have insulted God Himself and resisted the Holy Ghost;"..These also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith" (II Timothy 3:8b).-----DH

" A ROSE OF LOVE"

"I am the rose of Sharon,...." Song of Solomon 2:1 a
"And to know the love of Christ,...." Ephesians 3:19a

The story is told of a young radio comedian who fell in love with a young woman named Mary. He was very shy and could not bring himself to convey his feelings for the girl he loved. One day Jack's courage mounted to the point that he sent her one red rose with the words, "To Mary---With Love" on the accompanying card.
She said,"Jack, are you sending me flowers? Are you trying to ask me something?? Are you trying to ask me out?"
In a few months Jack and Mary were married. Everyday of their marriage, Mary received one red rose with a card attached that said,"With love to Mary, From Jack." Their forty-seven year marriage ended with Jack's death in 1974. The day after Jack's funeral, his wife Mary was home when the doorbell rang. She answered it and a florist stood there with one red rose and a card that said, "To Mary----With Love,Jack." She gasped and said, There must be some mistake; my husband is dead." "No'" replied the delivery boy, "Mr. Benny worked it all out before he died; no one ever loved you like Jack Benny."
The story of human love between a man and a woman is inspiring; however, the love that Christ has for sinners far surpasses any that a human being could muster. No one ever loved you like Jesus and He sends you roses in His Word everyday to prove it. "For God so loved the world...."--T.G.

I had heard that story before, told alittle differently. It is a beautiful story and it gives me goose bumps everytime I read it.

Consider the lillies was spoken at my wedding, at my son't baptism, and at the funeral for my father and grandmother. It is the scripture that I most cherish. Along those lines is a poem by Helen Mallicoat, which I have framed in my room:

I was regretting the past
and fearing the future.
Suddenly my Lord was speaking:

"MY NAME IS I AM"

He paused.
I waited. He continued,
"When you live in the past,
with its mistakes and regrets,
it is hard. I am not there.
My name is not I WAS.

When you live in the future,
with its problems and fears,
it is hard. I am not there.
My hane is not I WILL BE.

When you live IN THIS MOMENT
it is not hard. I am here
My name is I AM."

"Remember Thee?"

"Let your conversations be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I
will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5

There is a wonderful story about Narcissa Hamilton, a young girl who reestablished an acquaintance with her cousin, the revered, Sam Houston, while both were in Washington, D.C.
She asked if Houston remembered her. With great aplomb he confirmed that he did. She then asked for a penned sentiment in her school girl diary. The former governor and soon to be general and Texas hero, snatched up pen and paper, and vigorously composed, without hesitation the following:
Remember thee? Yes, lovely girl:
While faithful memory holds its seat,
Till this warm heart in dust is laid,
And this wild pulse shall cease to beat.
No matter where my bark be tossed,
On life"s tumultuous, stormy sea:
My anchor gone, my rudder lost,
Still, cousin, I will think of thee.

Of course she cherished these words by passing them down to her descendants.
Who could not help but be reminded of the promises of God,"... I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." The Lord will forever remember us, forever think on us, and forever love us. Shouldn't we treasure these words and pass them to our descendants?
"For he established a testimony...that they should make them known to their children: That the generation to come might know them.,,,, That they might set their hope in God," psalm 78:5-7).------S.A.

"PAUL'S TESTIMONY I"

"I have fought a good fight,...." II Timothy 4:7a

Dr. J. Frank Norris had lunch one day with Jack Dempsey, the heavyweight champion of the world. Norris asked Dempsey how he was able to take so many repeated blows. Jack Dempsey reportedly replied," I learned how to absorb punishment."
In the fight of faith one must learn how to "take it." There is no reason to throw in the towel before the trumpet sounds. Paul fought a good fight. It doesn't say he won every round or was successful in every bout, but he fought on. Stay in the fight brethren, the battle is not ours, but His! We must be diligent, as well as militant. There is no reason for peace with honor or withdrawing graciously. The fight must be engaged. To the fray we must advance in faith. Oh, and remember, who the real enemy is; it is not the deacons, the brethren, society or politicians, it is the devil who is our adversary. God has called us to battle, not to a ball field. It's war not a game we are engaged in--- Fight on! When all is said and done,may your weapon belt be empty, your bayonet bloody, the grenades all thrown, and when He calls you Home, may every shot be fired and your gun barrel still warm. Remember: the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but spiritual and the arsenal is full. ( Eph. 6: 11-18).---T.G.
