| Posted about 1 year ago I was just discussing these very scriptures to my children last night. They like the idea of God "clothing" the lilies of the field, and looking better than rich KIng Solomon. It really made me rexamine my own attitude about money and material things. It is so easy to get caught up in working and making money and worrying about how you are going to buy this and get that. I remember a time when I was making very little money but my faith was strong and I did not want for anything. But once I became a nurse I have had to remind myself ( because the hours are always there) to focus first on the kingdom and everything else will fall in place. The more I worked the more I worried, The more money I made the more bills I made for myself and the more I worried. I continue everyday to work on exercising my faith and placing my burdens on God. |

| Posted about 1 year ago christianwoman: It's true, most of the things we worry about don't even happen. I like the saying "Let go and let God". But I think God needs aliitle help sometimes. My brother was very religious. He felt when it was "your time" to go , nothing you could do would make any difference. It was all in God's hands. He got sick-thought he had the flu. Also thought he had no insurance. (Later we found out he did have insurance ).He kept getting worse but did not seek any medical attention. He was a simple soul and lived meagerly. A hospital was located right around the corner from him but he did not have the money for a ER visit. Finally he collapsed and was taken to the ER where he died shortly thereafter. He was 42 years old! I believe, had he sought medical attention earlier, he would still be here. God gave us intelligence, choices and a will, I believe we need to use these along with God's help. I believe God is there when we need him most but not that he controls every little decision we make. I know alot of you will not agree with me. But that's my 2 cents worth! |

| Posted about 1 year ago Charlita, I think you are right. God gave us freewill. He also gave us the knowledge to better ourselves and others around us; to help and serve God, others, and ourselves. He is always there and always will be. It reminds me of a story... A man was on top of his house during a massive flood. He prayed and prayed for God to help him. Minutes later a boat came by and told the man to get in. The man refused saying that God will save him. Soon another boat came by and told the man to get in and save himself. And again the man refused and said that God would save him. Next a helicopter flew over and tried to rescue him. He again refused, saying God would save him. A few minutes later the flood was overtop his house and he drowned. He went to heaven and asked God why he did not save him. God replied....I tried three times; I sent two boats and a helicopter for you. |

| Posted about 1 year ago yup, that's why we have to pray and ask God for wisdom in everything. we have a freewill, the Word of God and to seek friends who serve the Lord. Being religious is fine but we have to listen to His voice. Most of the time we keep on talking but forgetting to listen for the answers. my aunt loves Christ a lot, she has a bleeding ulcer but still continued to fast until she became bedridden and died. but i know the reason why she continued to fast inspite of her condition though she sought medical advice then. She wants to be happy in that situation, to be an encouragement to others and most of all willing to suffer pain as a testimony.Guess what? I saw how she handled situation even when i was young, she was always singing praises to the Lord although they have no money and it made a good impact in me---------- I want to know Christ until after college a friend led me to the Lord.......... |

| Posted about 1 year ago One night when my daughter was in a speciality hosp.for 11 daysIt was the third time we had made funeral arrangements for her The dr.s did not think she was going to made it.She was in constant seizure activity.I was outside crying and smoking a cig.(she was in picu).I was praying to god to save her.I did what everyone else does beg, pleaded and even bargained. Then it hit me what god wanted to happen would happened.I decieded to put it in his hands. I said do what you will. I know it's for the best.A peace came over me then and the crying and ranting stopped.I knew I could accept whatever would happened. We were home 2 days later. The med. combo the dr's put her on was finally working. The dr's could not believe it. I have seen many such miracle's in my adult life and really could not explain them so I just learned to accept and not question his working's anymore. |

| Posted 11 months ago Message for the week ---- ABOVE ALL................ 1 Chronicles 16:25-29 For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the people are idols:but the Lord made the heavens. Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place. Give unto the Lord, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.............Beloved we are blessed above all others in Christ Jesus. Our lives, our attitudes, our priorities and yes even our lips should shout that the Lord God is unashamedly and unchallenged as our All in All and above all others. There should be no reservation, no hesitation in lifting up our Lord Jesus. Neither should there be any reservation or hesitation in bowing humbly and submissively to His word and His will for our lives.......... May our lives sing the truth of God's glory and blessing and praise like the words of this song........ ABOVE ALL by LeBanc, Lenny?baloche, Paul. |

| Posted 9 months ago in the Bible , we can see how Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17. Jesus is The Only Intercessor. Jesus prays for His chidren to be sanctified by truth, to be pure, to do the Great Commission--- Sharing the Words of God to all. Our relationship with God through Jesus Christ should be personal and Jesus wants His children to be one with Him. |

| Posted 8 months ago FRIENDS: I would like to share a devotion from our "Baptist Bread." Baptist Bread is an Independent Christian Publication, which is published bimonthly.Writer of Baptist Bread are Independent, Fundamental, Separated, Soul-winning, Bible-Believing Baptists. This devotional booklet is printed in our humble church in michigan....... March 9 (Sunday) "Gentle, Gentle" "But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:" ! Thessalonians 2:7 The Spirit of God bears His gentleness in my life. Gentleness is not weakness;it is strength under control. It's strength with reins on it. It's like a gentle horse. A gentle horse is not a weak horse; it's a horse whose strength is bridled. It's a horse whose strength has reins on it. Only as much strength as is necessary is used.

"PULLED AWAY" "but they refused to hearken, and pulled away the shoulder, and stopped their ears, that they should not hear."Zechariah 7:11 Have you ever placed your hand on someone's shoulder, only to have them twist, turn and pull away?

| Posted 8 months ago March 17 Monday "On The Move" "Let the heaven and earth praise Him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein." Psalms 69:34 We live during an "Age of Movement." Everyone seems to be on the move. Crossing oceans and continents within twenty four hours is a daily exercise. Accepting job offers in different states is normal. Family homes, though still sentimentally treasured, no longer hold their previous value when calculating decisions involving movement. We are people on the move.

The story is told of a young radio comedian who fell in love with a young woman named Mary. He was very shy and could not bring himself to convey his feelings for the girl he loved. One day Jack's courage mounted to the point that he sent her one red rose with the words, "To Mary---With Love" on the accompanying card.

| Posted 8 months ago Consider the lillies was spoken at my wedding, at my son't baptism, and at the funeral for my father and grandmother. It is the scripture that I most cherish. Along those lines is a poem by Helen Mallicoat, which I have framed in my room: I was regretting the past
"MY NAME IS I AM" He paused.
When you live in the future,
When you live IN THIS MOMENT
This has gotten me through some tough times. Also helpful is Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now". I recommend that reading, along with the "A New Earth". Anyone care to read and discuss, contact me! |

| Posted 8 months ago i know it is very late but everyday is a "resurrection day" because Jesus Christ lives forever!!!!!!! March 24
'A PRACTICAL RESURRECTION" "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead." Philippians 3:10-11 For three days and three nights, the inhabitants of Paradise watched as the body of the Lord Jesus lay in the tomb. They all knew that this one, who had submitted to death, was also the creator and the reason for their existence. But if He could not rise from the grave, what would be in store for them? The Bodily Resurrection of Jesus has much practical meaning for the redeemed. Because of our faith in the death, burial and resurrection, we were eternally saved from Hell. As born again believers, we must now learn to trust in this same resurrection power, as the practical resource, to be able to live in a way that is pleasing to the Lord. A life that has truly been touched by the power of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ....is a life that has been noticeably transformed from what it once was. Is the power of the resurrection in you today? Does your life exemplify that of a resurrected life to a lost world, other believers, or at least to yourself? Do you tell others what the resurrection's power has done for you? The power of the resurrection is available for true believers. Have you prayed for this power?----T.L. Morning Reading:
